Central Illinois & Springfield's 15th Annual Race Unity Event June 10 at Southwind Park
The Race Unity Event for 2012 is an outdoor celebration at Southwind Park in lieu of an indoor rally at the Capitol Building, where it first held in 1998 and has been its venue for each year since.
As with the past rallies, this year's celebration is designed to broaden the collective vision of Springfield-Area residents, to provide a means through which young people may pause to consider their interconnectedness to others, and to create a forum for celebrating the growing cultural, religious and familial diversity that marks modern-day Springfield.
